The process takes around 5 appointments, over 5 weeks. The first involves a discussion of what you hope to achieve and a smile design being created. During the second appointment, a plastic version of your smile will be made and this will be tweaked in the third appointment, before being sent away to be manufactured. In the fourth appointment you will then have your veneers fitted to your teeth and after this, the final appointment will be an opportunity for photographs to be taken and a care plan to be provided. If you take care of your veneers properly, you could have them for around 15 years as porcelain is very strong. In fact, the main principles are brushing and flossing frequently, and avoiding chewing ice cubes or using your teeth for opening things, or other non-eating purposes.
