Teeth straightening, designed by a cosmetic dentist

Invisalign at DRMR is teeth straightening with the finished smile in mind. If you see Dr Manrina Rhode, winner of Dentist of the Year and one of London’s most experienced cosmetic dentists, she plans every case as part of a complete smile design. Your teeth are moved into the position that suits your face, your lips and your bite, not just into a straighter line.

The clinic is at 251 Brompton Road, between Knightsbridge and South Kensington, and welcomes patients from across London and beyond.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of clear, removable aligners, custom made from a 3D scan of your mouth. Each set moves your teeth a small amount, and you change to the next set roughly every one to two weeks.

Compared with fixed braces, the aligners are:

  • Almost invisible when you're wearing them
  • Removable, so you eat, drink and brush as normal
  • Comfortable, with no wires or brackets
  • Digitally planned, so you see your projected result before you start

Most patients visit the clinic only every eight to ten weeks during treatment, and remote monitoring is available between appointments.

Why have Invisalign with a cosmetic dentist?

Straightening is often the first step in a larger transformation. Because Dr Manrina has spent over 20 years designing smiles, alignment at DRMR is planned with the end result in view:

  • Teeth are positioned to suit your smile line and facial proportions
  • Whitening and subtle contouring can be planned as finishing touches
  • In some cases, straightening first means veneers or bonding are no longer needed, or can be done far more conservatively

If you're considering veneers or composite bonding, it's worth having an alignment assessment first. It can change what's possible.

Is Invisalign right for you?

Invisalign works well for:

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Teeth that have moved back after braces in your teens
  • Mild to moderate bite issues
  • Preparing your smile before whitening, bonding or veneers

Some complex cases are better suited to other approaches. That's assessed honestly at your consultation, and if Invisalign isn't right for you, Dr Manrina will tell you and explain the alternatives.

Your Invisalign journey at DRMR

  1. Consultation. A full assessment with X-rays, photographs and a 3D digital scan.
  2. Your smile simulation. See a digital preview of your projected result before you commit to anything.
  3. Your aligners. Custom made and fitted at the clinic, with clear guidance on wear and care.
  4. Progress reviews. Short visits every eight to ten weeks, with remote monitoring in between. Which works well for our international patients.
  5. Whitening. This is often completed during the Invisalign process using your aligners.
  6. Finishing touches. Bonding, veneers or contouring if you'd like them, planned as part of your smile design.
  7. Retainers. Fixed or removable retainers to keep your new smile in place for the long term.

Most cases take between 4 and 12 months, depending on how far your teeth need to move. Your smile simulation at the consultation gives you a realistic timeline for your own case.

You'll feel pressure for a day or two when you change to a new aligner. That's the aligner working. Most patients describe it as mild tightness rather than pain.

Around 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush.

The aligners are clear and sit closely over your teeth. Most people won't notice unless you point them out, which is why Invisalign is popular with our professional patients.

They do different jobs. Invisalign moves your natural teeth into position. Veneers change the shape and colour of the teeth themselves. Many DRMR patients combine the two, straightening first so that any veneers can be minimal. Your consultation will map out the right sequence for you.

Yes. Teeth will drift back without them. We fit fixed or removable retainers at the end of treatment to protect your result.

Yes. Your 3D scan produces a digital simulation of your projected result at the consultation stage, before you commit to treatment or pay anything towards it.
